We went for a walk yesterday and took our cameras with us since the weather was so good, I think it reached about 26° celsius in the sun yesterday, but still only 16° in the shade. Nights have been a little cooler, dropping to 4° or 5°, even so, it was a Sunday, we had nothing else to do so we took the opportunity to get some exercise.
The hills around here are quite rugged but there are paths everywhere, leading in every direction. Periodically you'll still come across donkey dung, which are still used by some of the older generation as pack mules. The other day we saw an old-timer and his donkey who both looked like they'd stepped straight out of the nineteenth century, but we didn't have our cameras with us.
The picture you see here is exactly what most of Andalucia is like, very rocky, very dry, the flora clings to the rocks with barely enough top soil to survive in. Despite this it's quite amazing the diversity of plants. Cactuses, olice trees, almond trees, daisies, irises, lilies, grasses, all sorts. Apparently Grazalema national park is home to a bunch of endemic irises and are protected species. We haven't seen any fauna yet except for feral cats, but we'll keep looking.
