What about Virtual Directors in Business?

I've been giving some thought recently to the new reality of virtual worlds and their impact on real life, but what do people in the business world think of the term virtual?

For one thing, the term virtual has a much wider definition, and rightly so. In business the virtual world doesn't need to be a 3D virtual experience. Many use the term virtual in referring to an outsourced workforce, entrepreneurs will often use the term to describe a mentor or coach who they rarely meet, instead preferring telephone or email support.

Just recently I came across an innovative new use for the word, Virtual Sales Director, a free business advice newsletter. This one caught my attention because growing a business is not easy, and most entrepreneurs could benefit from having an experienced sales director working alongside them, and the articles here do offer good advice.

Our entrepreneur wants real people, with real skills, and real experience, working alongside her to help her grow her business. Sadly, they don't come cheap, but perhaps a virtual sales director, with all their expertise and experiences, would be a better option.

And as time goes by I'm sure the business world, particularly mentors, coaches and virtual directors will embrace the 3D virtual worlds that are now beginning to become popular.
