Making Money Online, First Steps

So, let's say you're reading this because you want to have your own successful Internet business. Have you worked out how much you need to earn per month to break even? Make sure you do this, then add a few dollars to host your website. Now considering you're just starting out go and get some affordable web hosting, that isn't going to break the bank.

The next step is to work out,are you going to sell a physical product that needs an online shopping cart, or a virtual product like an ebook that only needs storage space and a merchant facility, or are you going to create websites that promote affiliate programs.

Once you know what you're going to promote, your home business is on the way. I guess it will take you some time to get your website up and running, so let's assume you're ready to start promoting your website.

The 'secret' to being successful, which is something other people charge money to share with you, is that your business will not be succesful if you don't have traffic.

Traffic, such a simple word, millionaires have been created and fortunes lost trying to get traffic. It's the one part of your online business you ignore at your peril, forget about working on your back porch wondering what the poor people are doing.
