I'm looking at the stats for the Rugby World Cup, and with only six teams left, Fiji are looking like they might actually have a chance. With the shock exit of Australia and New Zealand, I must say I'm sorely tempted to place a fresh round of bets in time for the remaining quarter final games later today.
South Africa are a strong team, and I think they'll get the win against Fiji, who I think just lack the discipline needed to get past the South African backs. But on the other hand, South Africa have a habit of going into meltdown just when the pressure starts.
Scotland vs Argentina is a tough call. I'm picking Scotland to win, but not because either team is better than the other, although the odds at bet365 are not backing my belief, but I was born in Scotland so I'm going with a Scottish win.
I use bet365 because they accept a variety of deposit methods and when you travel that's important, it isn't always possible to use the same deposit method so Western Union or MoneyBookers depositing is brilliant. They're also an
online gambling site with a single account (they call it a wallet) for all my betting or gaming, and when I'm in a different timezone from where the action is, 24x7 access to their website saves on toll calls. LOL, I just realised what I did, a sales pitch for my bookie.
Placing bets on the semi-finals could be interesting, if I'm right and Scotland make it through, playing Fiji or South Africa will be hard work, you'd expect South Africa to be clear favourites, but Scotland is doing well, their recent performance in the six nations notwithstanding. In the other semi-final, France vs England, a hard game is ahead for both teams, I'd expect a few injuries, and I'm picking France to win. That puts South Africa and France into the final, who would have seen that scenario? Back at the beginning of the competition I'd have gone for a New Zealand/Australia final.
Interestingly, the odds at bet365 are South Africa and France favourites to win at 2.00 and 2.50 respectively. Of course I could be wrong, and then maybe I need to back Fiji, they're odds at 226.00, wow. That would pay for Christmas this year.
