Ning Themes
This release marks a milestone for me because I've now successfully produced two versions of the same Ning theme, the first for network creators with source code access and now the new version, a Ning theme for network creators or members.
In addition I've also successfully produced a commercial theme for Ning which I might be able to write about once the client is happy with the finished result. All of which proves that Ning themes are not as complex to create as one might initially think.
Readers who have their own Ning networks might also be interested in my seo tips for Ning networks article. Don't forget to join up at Skins 4 Ning, where anything to do with Ning themes can be discussed.

I new to blogging (I'll admit it) and have been looking for a new template for the past 3 hours. Nothing seems to look right and I'm not keen on having to re-add all my third party stuff. But these templates look top-notch, thanks!

Jillian, I'm keen to find out what sort of Blogger template you're looking for, my next project is to convert the other half's pixabella04 template, but if there is something else you'd like to see us work on it would be great to hear from you.
One of the sad things about a lot of Blogspot users is that because everything is free for them they seem resigned to putting up with whatever is available but I'd really like to produce a Blogger template that they actually want, even if does take a couple of months to release it.

I think what I'm looking for (and this is NOT going to be all that helpful) is something blue, pretty without being too girly, inviting. And a nice header image, too... like the ocean or office desk items or Anime DVD's or a Television and an armchair... you know?
I'm not good at designing anything and sadly this is the best I could come up with.
Does this make sense at all?

Making it girly... I don't have much experience of doing that sort of thing but I remember saying to other designers a couple of years ago that there just aren't enough themes amongst the many thousands being released every year that actually cater to women, yet still look professional. Far too many of the girly themes are aimed at young teenagers or hobbyists, categories that the majority of woman bloggers don't fall into.
We want our next template to be blue anyway, it's already being worked on, but I'll let ceejay know she has permission to go a little bit girly.
