Anti-Whaling Cartoon

MBJ Anti-Whaling CartoonI apologise to my regular readers for jumping on the anti-whaling cart, however it is something I feel very strongly about, and today I came across the blog entry of Matt Bissett-Johnson, a freelance cartoonist who drew this for the Melbourne Observer, one of Australia's biggest newspapers. I've hotlinked to the image, to preserve Matt's copyright, and hopefully he won't mind.

Also, if you feel as strongly about whaling as I do, be sure to sign the Greenpeace email campaign.

Greenpeace Anti-Whaling Protest Email
One of my readers is urging people to visit the Greenpeace website and fill in a form with your name and email address which will send an anti-whaling protest email to the CEO of Canon Cameras in Japan who is also head of the Japanese Business Federation calling on him to use his position to call for an end to whaling. Canon sponsors many environmental efforts around the world but on the issue of whaling has been silent, let's change that. Please, take a moment to fill this form in, and take the protest right to the heart of Japanese business where it can do the most good.

    Hi Carl

I'm glad you liked my cartoon, I don't mind a bit that you published it, glad to help the anti whaling cause.I had to laugh, though, when you described the Melbourne Observer as one of Australia's biggest newspapers. It's quite little actually, in the overall scheme of things.I'm sure the Melbourne Observer guys will be thrilled.
    Cheers

Is it really one of the smaller newspapers? Oh well, at least I made someone laugh, now if only we could get the Melbourne Observer staff reporters to cover the story...

Thanks for letting me hotlink to your cartoon, it's a very funny take on a serious issue and I think does contribute to helping people realise how stupid the research angle is.
