Summer is coming

You know summer is coming when your local bars start tidying up their courtyards and cleaning the dirt off the chairs and tables, even though the weather here is warmer it is only so during the day, I think we need to wait another month till summer really starts to arrive.

On the home front our terrace balcony is starting to look very attractive, the flowers are blooming, there are new leaves on the few shrubs and fruit trees we have in pots, but we haven't made room for the BBQ yet, it's still sitting in a cupboard from last year.

We like nothing better than to sit out in the evening when the cool breezes start and the sun isn't burning down harshly. We stoke the BBQ, listening to the sounds of kebabs sizzling and enjoying our cold drinks in koozies.

I think summer this year is going to be hot, spring has been a bit wet, we seem to have had more rain than normal and the evenings have for the most part been quite mild, although we did have one week when the temperature plummeted to winter levels.

This year will be the first year that we'll be living in town so we'll be much closer to friends, so we're hoping a few of them will actually drop by for a drink and maybe bite to eat. We're going to be keeping a small selection of nibbles and drinks in the house just in case.
