Ronda cycling races

This weekend in Ronda we had a series of bicycle races organized by the Organization of Andalucían Bike Clubs, with about 500 riders descending on Las Peñas and the Arrabal district for a series of races that were a combination of on-road and off-road.

I don't think the event was covered by the press, I saw one one other photographer at the event and I'm sure he was from Granada rather than Ronda, but anyway I managed to snap a few shots of cyclists to preserve for posterity.

The photo below is of the junior race about to start, notice all the proud parents mulling around making sure the riders are pumped up and ready to race. Cycling in Ronda is a big deal, hundreds of cyclists are members of the four cycling clubs in Ronda.

In a couple of weeks time the 101km race organized by the Legion takes place, so this weekend was a good practice run for quite a few of the cyclists.
