Ronda Photos

I've written several posts about cars in Ronda, and this time I'm not even going to mention the type of car in the photo below, it isn't really important, what really stood out was the store behind the car.

If you're wondering that is actually the kids entertainment thing, well you know, one of those places parents can take kids to play on this big indoor slides and climbing frames, but that also isn't important.

What really grabbed my attention was how wonderfully all the colors came together, even down to the security gate over the front entrance, in fact this little Renault actually reminded me of a cartoon car when I saw it.

One of the great advantages of living in Ronda rather than in the campo of one of the pueblos blancos is that I get to go for a walk around the city every day finding new places to take photos from.

The other day I was walking around some of the streets above the Padre Jesús district which overlooks La Ciudad, Ronda's old town, and the sun seemed to be ion the perfect place to snap this photo.

What you see in the picture is the Church of the Holy Spirit over at the far left, and to the top right the church of Santa Maria la Mayor, but in the middle below the old city you see the walls of the medieval city and the Exijara gate which used to lead into the city from the old artisans quarter.

I was walking around Ronda looking for vantage points that I could use to photograph the Easter parades next week and as I walked past the Iglesia de Padre Jesus I looked up and saw this amazing sunrise glancing off the walls of the bell tower. This photo isn't touched up in any way, that really is how it was. Beautiful isn't it?
